Attendance & Missed Lessons

Consistent attendance is important for steady progress.

If you need to miss a lesson, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • Lessons cancelled with 24+ hours’ notice may be rescheduled if space is available.

  • Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged in full and are not eligible for rescheduling.

  • Missed lessons or no-shows are charged in full.

Virtual lessons (FaceTime, Zoom, etc.) are always an option and are encouraged when students are unable to attend in person.

If a student misses more than three lessons in a 12 week period, for any reason other than teacher cancellation, their weekly lesson time will be released. Lessons may then continue only when openings are available, with no guaranteed weekly time.

If a student misses two consecutive lessons without proper notice, their weekly lesson time will also be released.

Teacher Cancellations & Weather

If a lesson must be cancelled due to teacher illness, emergency, or severe weather:

  • The lesson will be rescheduled at the teacher’s discretion.

  • Virtual lessons (FaceTime, Zoom, etc.) may be offered as an alternative when possible.

Rescheduled lessons are subject to available openings and might not occur in the same week.

Scheduling Lessons

Students are assigned a weekly lesson time that remains consistent.

If a long-term scheduling conflict arises, switching to a different available lesson time may be possible.

  • Once a lesson time is changed, the original time is not guaranteed to remain available.

Please communicate scheduling needs as early as possible so we can find the best solution.

Payment

Lessons are billed through Fons, our secure online scheduling and payment platform.

  • A credit/debit card or bank account (ACH) is required to set up Fons.

  •  Fons automatically charges your payment method for each lesson after it occurs — no manual payment is needed.

Virtual and travel lessons are billed in the same way as in-person lessons.

Discontinuing Lessons

We understand that every student eventually stops taking lessons. Open communication ensures a smooth and positive transition.

Please provide at least two weeks’ notice if you plan to discontinue lessons. This allows time to properly celebrate the student’s accomplishments, and also gives the teacher time to offer the lesson slot to a new student so there are no gaps in the schedule.
