Where to Start & What to Expect
I offer private piano lessons for beginner and intermediate students of all ages, with both studio and in-home options to meet different scheduling and learning needs.
All interested parties should schedule a free introductory phone call. This allows us to discuss your experience and goals to make sure my teaching style is a good match.
To get the most out of lessons and to respect both your time and mine, I ask that students commit to a regular weekly lesson. Showing up consistently is the only way to really grow and make the lessons worthwhile.
Lessons use the Faber Piano Adventures method books to introduce musical ideas in a clear, step-by-step way. Students learn new concepts through short exercises and begin playing songs right away, starting from the very first lesson.
Each week we focus on a new piece that is designed to practice one main concept, helping students build skills steadily over time. Lessons include guided practice, review, and clear direction on what to work on between lessons.
Students also have opportunities to explore styles of music they enjoy through Faber’s supplemental books. Toward the end of a semester, students may prepare a piece for a small concert, building confidence and performance skills.
